Vetonect connects pet owners with veterinary clinics. This policy explains what personal data we hold about you, why, who else sees it, and how to exercise your rights.

Who we are

Vetonect is operated by DUŠAN ANTOVIĆ PR RAČUNARSKO PROGRAMIRANJE TREEONIX BEOGRAD (ZEMUN), Ugrinovačka 98, 11080 Beograd (Zemun), Serbia, registration number (MB) 68152879, tax ID (PIB) 115168900 ("Vetonect", "we"). Contact for anything in this policy: support@vetonect.com.

When you use Vetonect as a pet owner or as a clinic's staff member, we are the controller of your account data. When a clinic keeps records about you or your pet (visits, medical notes, vaccinations, prescriptions, invoices), the clinic is the controller and we process that data on its behalf, under our Data Processing Agreement. For those records, contact the clinic first; we will help it answer you.

Who we share it with

  • Clinics you connect with. A clinic sees your details and your pet's profile once you book with it or it registers you. Clinics linked to the same pet see each other's records for that pet.
  • Service providers that run Vetonect for us, under data processing contracts:
ProviderWhat they do for usWhere
Hetzner Online GmbHServers and databaseGermany
Cloudflare, Inc.Domain name service, storage of photos and encrypted backups, forwarding of emails to our inboxEurope (preferred location); Cloudflare, Inc. is a US company
Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.)Sending account emails, reminders and invoicesUnited States
Google LLC (Maps Platform)Address suggestions while a clinic enters its address, and the clinic mapUnited States
  • Paddle.com Market Ltd (United Kingdom), our reseller and Merchant of Record, when a clinic subscribes. Paddle processes the payment and billing details as a controller in its own right, under its own privacy policy.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

Where data leaves the European Economic Area or Serbia, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • Your account: until you close it. You can close it yourself in your profile. Closing removes your email, phone, address, national ID and profile photo, and deletes your pets from the portal. Your name stays on records clinics are legally required to keep.
  • Clinic records: as long as the clinic keeps them. Clinics decide this under the rules that apply to them.
  • Backups: a copy of the database is taken every night and kept for up to about five weeks (the last 7 days and the 4 Sundays before them).
  • One-time email codes: expire after 2 minutes.

How we protect it

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes. National ID numbers are encrypted with a key kept apart from the database. Staff see only their own clinic's data, and each role (owner, vet, receptionist and others) sees only what it needs. Backups are stored off the server, with a separate key that can only reach the backup storage.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another service. Write to support@vetonect.com; we answer within 30 days. For records a clinic keeps, ask the clinic, or ask us and we will pass it on.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Serbia that is the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection (poverenik.rs); in the EU, the authority in your country.

Cookies and browser storage

We set two small cookies, both needed for the site to work: one remembers your language, the other limits how often the contact form can be sent (it expires at midnight). Your sign-in is kept in your browser's local storage until you sign out. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, so we do not ask for cookie consent.

Children

Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone younger has an account, we close it.

Changes

We will post changes here and email account holders about important ones before they take effect.
